WINLINE Basket Cup in Yekaterinburg: how it was

WINLINE Basket Cup kicked off in Yekaterinburg. Performances by artists, a different game format and ball, more colorful elements—we tell you more about the new tournament.

Ilona Korstin, VTB League General Director:

– Uralmash had a mixed season start – on the one hand, the Yekaterinburg team beat Lokomotiv Kuban with a crazy shot at the end. I think this gave the players confidence and strength. On the other hand, the team gave its all emotionally, and after such wins, of course, there is an emotional slump. Uralmash is currently missing two leaders, but I think that when all the players recover, the team will look stronger!

I am glad that we have started and that the first game was a success in organization. The League office arrived here in advance, and the club worked hard. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the club’s management for organizing this game, because we want to do things differently, we want the fans to see the difference, and this required a lot of effort on our part.

Timofei Gerasimov, Uralmash guard:

– Of course, we approach this professionally and seriously, trying to demonstrate our level, and the fans enjoy, everyone likes it.

Vladislav Emchenko, Zenit guard

– It’s always nice to come to DIVS, where the fans always cheer loudly for their team. I’m glad that basketball is popular. But what I especially liked was the beautiful lights after we arrived by bus – it charged us with energy before the game.
